We started Diana Ceramic because there’s something grounding about working with clay. Hands messy, wheel spinning, conversation drifting around the room.
It’s simple, really.
We run pottery and ceramics workshops in Melbourne for beginners and experienced makers alike. Our classes include wheel throwing, ceramic painting, and beginner pottery courses where we walk you through the basics — shaping, trimming, glazing, and firing. No pressure to get it perfect. Clay rarely behaves perfectly anyway.
Truth is, the slightly uneven pieces often end up being people’s favourites.
Alongside our regular workshops, we also host private events and team-building sessions in the studio. Sometimes it starts as a corporate activity and ends with everyone comparing their bowls like proud kids at art class. Happens more than you’d think.
For artists who already have their own projects underway, we offer studio access and kiln firing services, giving Melbourne ceramicists a place to keep creating.
One afternoon last winter someone made a chunky mug they swore was “too ugly to keep”… a week later they came back saying it’s the one they use every morning.
Clay does that.
Anyway, that’s a little of what we do here.
