We spend a lot of time on Sydney Harbour.

Not just sailing through it — helping people experience it properly.

At Eastcoast Sailing, we organise private yacht hire, catamaran charters and sailing experiences throughout Sydney Harbour and the Pittwater region. The business was founded by our host Kylie with the goal of making boat hire feel simple and personal, whether it’s for a small group or a larger event.

And honestly, every booking is a little different.

Some groups are celebrating birthdays or corporate milestones with 100+ guests on board. Others are couples looking for a quiet overnight stay on the water. Sometimes it’s visitors to Sydney who just want to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from the deck of a yacht.

Then there are the sailing lessons.

We run beginner sailing courses and hands-on training for people learning to sail, and the harbour tends to keep things interesting. Wind shifts, ferry traffic, the occasional curious dolphin… you never quite know.

There was one afternoon lesson where the wind dropped completely and everyone ended up swimming instead of sailing, which — well, not the worst outcome.

That’s harbour life sometimes.
