As part of the PTE Read aloud
pronunciation, word stress is extremely important, which means concentrating on
the appropriate syllables. It is normal for a word to be broken down into a
number of syllables, which is essentially a series of alphabets, most of which
contain vowels. For your understanding, I’ve given you an example below. In the
PTE Read Aloud task, you need to speak fluently and without hesitation. As part
of oral fluency, you should also have good rhythm and natural rate when you
speak, and you should score on three parameters, Sentence Stress, Speed and
Pause, and Good Modulation. It’s important not to stress every word when
reading aloud, but to only emphasize those that convey meaning when reading
aloud. This is called sentence stressing, but how do you figure out which words
to stress in the PTE Read Aloud test?

In a sentence, emphasize the nouns,
adjectives, adverbs, and verbs only. Other words in the sentence that serve
just to support it are called grammatical words. These may include conjunctions
and prepositions, so you shouldn’t put too much stress on them. For the PTE
Read Aloud task, you need to speak at a decent and moderate speed. Having
control over your speed while speaking is extremely important. Otherwise, you
run the risk of not being crystal clear to the PTE Read Aloud software. As a
result, the software cannot differentiate between your words when evaluating
your response. Conversely, if you speak slowly, you may not have the time to
read the entire text if you speak slowly. It is important to speak at a normal
speed in PTE Read Aloud, and to pause after commas and full stops, while using
punctuation symbols.
