The response to Summarize Written Text should be
grammatically accurate, so you will get two points. The answer to PTE Summarize
Spoken Text must also be grammatically accurate to receive two points. It is
possible to earn 1 point for grammar if you make a few grammatical mistakes (1
or 2), while if you commit any more errors, you will not score any grammar
points. For PTE Summarize Written Text, vocabulary, you can earn 2 points for
the appropriate use of words. In terms of appropriateness, you get one point if
you use fewer appropriate words, whereas in terms of inappropriateness, you get
zero. Words are considered appropriate if they relate to the spoken lecture as
well as academically relevant. For spelling, 1 mistake will cost you 1 point,
more than 1 mistake will cost you 0 points, while no mistake will earn you 2.
Thus, if you meet all the PTE scoring criteria, you will
earn 10 points in total, but you must be careful, as any irrelevant content not
related to the audio recording will result in zero points. Also, always type
everything in capital letters, and use appropriate punctuation.
